AAM Professional Development Program

AAM Professional Development (AAM PD), launched officially in 1988, provides tools to address some of the most critical and relevant issues in the field through online webinars and web conferences (both live and on-demand), podcasts and audio conferences (coming in 2010), face-to-face seminars and workshops, and the AAM Career Café™ at the AAM Annual Meeting. AAM PD is committed to providing the highest quality programs to the broadest audience, addressing the AAM goals of leadership, collaboration, and excellence. A range of programs are held throughout the year to meet the needs of museum practitioners at every stage of their career, in all functional areas, and in a wide range of museum types, sizes, budgets and disciplines. In doing so, AAM PD helps individual museum practitioners improve both their technical and interpersonal management and leadership skills (hard and soft skills), thus helping create stronger institutions that can better serve their communities, and ultimately help communicate the value of museums to society in these challenging times and beyond.
